Kanpur University is officially known as Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University (CSJMU or CSJM University), is a public state university established in the year 1966 in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. The university is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The campus of the univresity includes faculties of Life Sciences, Business Management, Education and English. Other than these the university also has a computer centre, a department of Adult and Continuing Education, Communication and a College Development Council. The Kanpur University has recently started an Institute of Engineering and Technology for the students of engineering in the campus that offering courses in four branches of engineering viz. Chemical, Computer Science and Information, Mechanical Engineering.
